Lets talk for a minute about....toothpaste!

WHAT'S IN YOUR TOOTHPASTE?!

SODIUM FLUORIDE: A known carcinogen commonly used in rat poisoning. If ingested it can cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, mood swings, paralysis, muscular weakness, and (in large quantities) can cause cardiac failure.

CRUDE OIL: Used in many food products as a colorant. It has been researched in many cases to have been linked to hyperactive behavioral disorders in children, can cause severe allergic reactions, induce asthma attacks, headaches, nausea, fatigue, lack of concentration, and cancer.

SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE: Has been found to be corrosive and harmful to skin tissue. It is commonly used in cleaning products to cause a foaming effect. The journal of the American College of Toxicology reports that "SLS can penetrate and be retained in the brain, heart, and liver with potentially harmful and long term effects". If gotten in the eyes it can cause children's eyes not to develop properly, cause adult cataracts, retard healing, and impair hair growth.

TRICLOSAN: Registered as a dangerous pesticide by the EPA. It can cause mild to moderate skin irritations, circulatory collapse, convulsions, coma, cancer, and even death. Prolonged use of pesticide products can damage the liver, kidney, heart, and lungs, suppress the immune system and cause hormonal disruption, paralysis, sterility, and brain hemorrhages.

WHAT'S IN OUR TOOTHPASTE?

BENTONITE CLAY is one of the active ingredients in our toothpaste. It is a sodium/calcium based clay that helps to remove toxins from your body while distributing healthy minerals your body needs back in through your teeth. Bentonite clay is actually a flake of crystal that carries a very strong negative ionic charge. When activated (by water) the negative charge magnetically pulls toxins, heavy metals, acid, and other funky things in your body, and empties them from you body via the potty! The bentonite clay we use is both Sodium and Calcium based. Sodium based clay contains a higher negative charge drawing more toxins out while the Calcium based clay acts as a remineralizer, filtering the blood of impurities and leaving behind trace minerals that your body needs. It has been used for many things both internally and externally alike. Bentonite clay also helps to raise the pH of your body allowing for a more alkaline environment. Our bodies function best and are able to fight off illness when in an alkaline state. Regular internal use of bentonite clay provides a safe and effective cleanse, restoring proper digestive function. Externally it has been used to heal skin conditions such as eczema, acne, sores, and rashes. In our toothpaste it helps to whiten and brighten teeth and freshen breath by pulling all the toxins in your body out through your gums, while remineralizing to strengthen your teeth. 

CELTIC SEA SALT contains many minerals and trace minerals obtained from the salt water of the ocean that contain immeasurable benefits for your teeth as well as the rest of your body. One of celtic salt's major constituents is magnesium. Magnesium deficiency in humans produces decalcification, anemia, drastic weight loss, obesity, dizziness, and irritability. The benefits of remineralizing your body with magnesium is an incredible increase in cellular activity leading to proper immune function, boosted energy, and rapid healing of illnesses. The amount of minerals in your average table salt are next to none. This actually results in the reverse effect as real sea salt causing kidney problems, gall stones, and other issues.  

BAKING SODA: a commonly used natural cleaning agent that helps to clean and whiten your teeth. 

PURE STEVIA EXTRACT: we use stevia to sweeten our toothpaste as opposed to commercial brands that use sugars (which completely defeats the purpose...right?!). Stevia has also been studied in the use of regulating blood sugars with great results in those who have diabetes and high blood pressure. It also helps to curb sugar cravings...for those days when you just want a stinkin' candy bar!
